Invisalign

Wouldn’t you love a straight smile without dealing with the hassle of braces? At Edmonds Orthodontics, we are proud Invisalign providers.

Invisalign® is a series of clear overlay templates called aligners that have been generated by computer simulation to gradually move the teeth. This system is effective in treating certain orthodontic bite problems.

The benefits to Invisalign:

  • The clear aligners are practically invisible.
  • Aligners are removable – eat your favorite foods and brush/floss normally
  • Straight teeth = a healthier smile and well-being

Ask us if you are a good candidate for Invisalign®.

Braces

When it comes to Edmonds braces, we offer innovative solutions to give the aesthetic appeal to you and your smile. From metal to ceramic braces, we are confident we can find a treatment that works only for your smile.

The brace types we offer:

Metal Braces are traditional braces made of high-grade stainless steel. Metal brackets are very strong and can withstand most types of treatment. These types of braces require an elastic 9-shaped rubber band called a ligature to hold the arch wire onto the brackets.

Metal Braces

Ceramic braces are made of translucent (clear) material. They are most popular with adult patients. They are stain resistant, however, they are more fragile and compared to self-ligating or metal brackets, and have increased friction between the bracket and the archwire.

Retainers

The day is finally here: You finally get your braces off! Yes! But, you're not out of the clear. The next important step is to keep those teeth straight. That's where our retainers come in.

Retainers are custom appliances that hold the position of your teeth. It'll prevent your teeth from shifting and protect your investment in orthodontics.

Wearing retainers does not need to be a chore. We offer many custom retainers for you and your family, including:

  • Clear, plastic retainers
  • Colorful retainers (including Seahawks colors)
  • Fixed retainers
  • Hawley retainers
  • Essix retainers
  • Vivera retainers
  • Bonded lingual retainers

Appliances

There are times when braces won't be enough to straighten your smile. Sometimes the problem goes deeper than crooked teeth. At Edmonds Orthodontics, we do offer orthodontic appliances to keep you and your smile healthy for years to come.

Some of our appliances include:

This appliance is usually needed for underbites. The reverse pull headgear pulls forward and assists the growth of the upper jaw to catch up with the lower jaw. Usually, you'll need to wear this appliance 12-22 hours per day - depending on your case.

If your upper jaw is too narrow or have a crossbite, an expander will be the best option. This appliance usually consists of two connected halves and each night you turn a small screw device to expand the device. In the end, you get an upper jaw that fits with your bite.
